Al-Jamal Olive Oil Soap is a traditional Nabulsi soap made using the same time-honored formula passed down through generations. Made with just three simple ingredients; virgin olive oil, water, and baking soda—the soap is free from added perfumes and unnecessary chemical additives. The traditional soap-making process begins by slowly cooking the ingredients in large vats over low heat for approximately five days. The finished mixture is then poured onto a large surface, where it is allowed to settle before being carefully cut into individual blocks. Each bar is stamped with the traditional seal of the factory where it is produced. Once cut, the soap is stacked into large geometric towers, allowing air to circulate naturally around each bar. These distinctive pyramids can reach more than eight feet high and remain in the factory’s drying rooms for approximately 10 to 30 days, allowing the soap to naturally mature before it is packaged and shipped. Nabulsi soap-making is a centuries-old tradition from Nablus, where olive oil soap production developed into both an important industry and a respected craft. Historical records indicate that Nabulsi olive oil soap was exported throughout the Arab world and to parts of Europe as early as the 10th century.
